Poem: THE JOURNEY By Dele Habila Chocho
I've come across valleys, climbed mountains
I've watched the sea rage out of small waves
I've crossed paths of boulevards that seemed like a tunnel
And I've seen that the world is not static, but in motion
And I've seen from distant mountains
Every hurdle can be moved if u push.
Though I appear to be exhausted and not buoyant
From toiling to meet with triumph
With inner smiles unseen
Only revealed when the sun comes rising
For out out of my mind will palaces come
And in those shall I march with enthusiasm afresh
To plug from the tree of success
To higher levels I am rising
For heights attained and kept by great men
Were not achieved by sudden flight
For they while others were asleep
Toiled harder and upwards at night
And have reaped success
With strength to believe in me
I know in this journey
A slip is not fall
And a fall is not failure until I accept defeat.
