Breaking News: Bauchi State Govt is to commence the payment of verified staffs - Sen. Adamu Gumba

In a press brief made by the chairman of verification committee inperson of Sen. Adamu Gumba while interacting with representatives disclosed that the staffs whom were verified by the committee would recieve their alert any time from now.

According to Gumba, the ongoing verification which directed by the State Governor that aimed at fishing out ghost workers & block all the leakedges in the state payroll is going successfully.

As you are all aware that, there is a disagreement over the non payment of some state workers because of their failure to links their BVN with their payroll, although the problem was initiated by the previous administration but the present leadership feel it necessary to update and links the affected staff's BVN with their payroll inorder to find the accurate number of Bauchi State civil servants and to allow for employment opportunity, Gumba added.

The Bauchi State Governor has in a term of reference sent our committee the number 41,448 affected staffs that need to be verified for which pensioners were included. Out of that figure, we've sent about 19,000 number of staffs to the Nigerian Inter-Bank settlement management system (NIBSMS) for BVN verification. The NIBSMS is the only constitutional regulatory body that has the right to provide & store BVN records to all Nigerians, out of that figure, about 13,000 staffs were successfully verified by this body and the remaining 6000 are recieving physical verification by our committee to avoid all the expected anomalies, according to Gumba.

In his speech, Sen. Gumba stated that the verification will proceed in badges, as Soon as the committee completed the exercise, The verified names would be sent to state Governor for payment approval which shall be expected anytime from now.

While stating the findings of their exercise, Sen. Gumba explained that, we have shockingly caught one staffs receiving almost eight salaries, in addition, we have also arrested six different staffs receiving double salaries from the state treasury. In the course of this verification, we realized that there is neither retire nor dead records in the local Govt payroll, as they number of staffs decreases through retirement & death, the amount of Bauchi State salary increases all the times, as such we are working tirelessly to find out the source of this anomalies & provide a lasting solution which could permit the state Government to employ fresh graduate, Gumba explained.

Inview of the above, we in the spirit of sincerity call on the members of General public to support the Govt on this developmental exercise that would bring employment opportunity to our teaming youth, Gumba disclosed.
