Yakubu Dogara and Agriculture By Chongkon Zico John

Tracing back to history, God in His infinite mercy gave humanity the skills and knowledge to practice agriculture as an entity for survival, wealth and prosperity. These agricultural activities could be of crop production or animal husbandry where a lot of modifications has taken place and today many industries depends solely on products from agriculture. 

Today, agriculture is at low level of production due to poor economic values, lack of availability of agriculture implement, poor state of fertilizer availability, poor level of government involvement in agriculture and lack of involvement with support of our political leaders. Agriculture is at the brim of sorry state, to revive agriculture production is a course for all, especially the government and our political leaders. 

Rt. Hon. Dr. Yakubu Dogara as a leader has played a greater role in agricultural improvement and fully participation. Roles of Dogara in Agricultura Development Having been raised from his childhood through agricultural activities, the former Speaker has always been an advocate on agricultural development as a basic tool for nation building. 

He has been supplying: Fertilizers,  Improved Breeds of seeds and nuts,  Organizing different workshops on modern systems of agricultural activities Supplying improve breeds of livestock especially to widows and orphans Supplying of rice mill factory for rice processing (industrial point of view) And lots more to his constituency. 

This is the magnitude of selfless representation with the growth and development of his constituents as his major goal. As a leader with good example, Dogara has been involved and participate fully in the agricultural process, having one of the most improved modern agricultural farm in the country, which employ a lot of people with such improve the livelihood of the people. 

As a leader, in different occasions, he will be seen participating in the agricultural work with passion and dedication which describes him as an Exemplary Leader. With such love and participation in the process, Dogara deserves our accolades and support in his political career as we expect more of dividends from his selfless service.
