GOV. BALA MOHAMMED PAID A CONDOLENCE VISIT TO THE FAMILY OF LATE PROF. JAMES LANDI
His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed today led a delegation of top government officials on a condolence visit to the family of late Professor James Hantsi Landi over his demise.
At the residence of the deceased in Boi of Bogoro Local Government Area, the Governor sympathized with the family over what he described as a great loss.
Governor Bala acknowledged the positive contributions of the deceased to the growth and development of the state.
Professor James Hantsi Landi is one of the most notable Zaar Professors and lecturer with the University of Jos.
Professor James Hantsi Landi is noted to be the second person to obtain PhD in both Tafawa Balewa and Bogoro LGAs in 1985.
Professor James Hantsi Landi was among the compatriots who made strong representations during the Babalakin commission immediately after the 1991 crises in Tafawa Balewa, He was the one that suggested that a Gung zaar chiefdom be created in Tafawa Balewa during the Baba Lakin commission of inquiry.
In 2003, Professor James Hantsi Landi was appointed the Commissioner of Rural Development in Bauchi State from Bogoro LGA by the then Governor Ahmed Adamu Muazu. He served his full term of 4 years in office.
Late Prof. James Landi was elected ZDA Lagos Branch Chairman in 1998.
After his tenure as a Commissioner in 2007, Prof Landi returned to the class with the University of Jos and became a Professor of Economics.
