T/Balewa Youths on a hike organised by Higher Ground Fitness
On the early hours Saturday the youths in T/Balewa embarked on a hike, organized by the MD Higher Ground Fitness Mr. S.Y.Gida, the program which kick start at Morrawa Divine Sec. Sch. Comprises of sessions of Jogging, Hill Climbing, Health Talk, Games, Rap Freestyle, Spoken Words etc

Mr. S.Y. Gida stated that the reason and purpose behind the hike is to go out mainly to 
1. Explore the environment, 
2. Take some fresh & natural air  
3. Gain some hiking benefits such as: 

  • Lower risk of heart disease, 
  • Improve blood pressure & blood sugar level, 
  • Boost born density 
  • Improve balance
  • Build strength in your gluts, quadriceps,hamstrings, & the muscles in the hips & lower legs

The MD gave his word of advice to those who love to hike saying "you don't need any special skills to hike, u just have to be able to walk and know where you are and where u are going, its a great way to immerse yourself in nature &  get a good workout. Anybody can go for hike as long as u can walk He added

During the workout session there was; 
1. Health talk was taken by Pharmacy Micah Jingina, Where he talks on the benefits of exercise on our body systems, where so many questions were ask and answered. 
2. Games were played and 5 groups won out of 23 group, 
3. Aerobics/Workout, 
4. Rap freestyle session with Stevrap, Spunks Eda, Mish The Rapper & Mr. kings obi,

5. Poet on "encourage yourself" by Sir. Lengs

The hike was organized in collaboration with Bomb Finesse Design , Jagzpayne Photos, ZaarGossip and Khalimp3, and the next hiking edition will come on 25 April. More details to be released.
