Bauchi State Government Is To Partner With Foreign Investors
His Excellency Governor Bala Mohammed yesterday in Abuja met with private investors in continuation of his deliberate policy of engaging development partners as part of his dogged determination to improve the quality of life of the good people of Bauchi State.
British investors from the UK interacted with the Governor where they indicated interest and willingness to renew an earlier agreement signed with the previous Government to provide Solar powered source of energy to Ganjuwa local Government community.
At the end of discussion , the following terms of agreement were reached.
1- The MOU be reviewed to meet with the challenging demands of the people.
2- The Bauchi State Government is to provide the needed land requirements for the project
3- The investors should market the energy to the consumers and the State Government to get an appreciable percentage of the total collection.
4- The investors to pay compensation while the Bauchi State Government to provide the needed supervisory role.
In all aspects of the discussion, the Bauchi State Government has shown greater commitment and willingness to partner with the investors for a mutually beneficial terms whereby critical sectors of the economy ,like schools , Hospitals , markets and water facilities will be provided with solar energy as part of the investors corporate social responsibility.
Similarly , Governor Bala Mohammed had also received I. N International organisation who were engaged by the NNPC and Co – funded the construction and equipping of Misau Computer and Skill Acquisition Center.
The project is completed and ready for use and highlights of the discussion centered on commissioning of the center , sustainability of the center and other challenges of lack of Hostel accommodation .
Governor Bala Mohammed pledged to support the center with computers and other needed equipment to achieve the purpose of establishing the center.
